Say is a 28-year-old woman from Burma. She lives in a refugee camp in Mae Hong Son Province, Thailand. She lives with her mother, five younger siblings, husband, and their 2-year-old daughter. Say and her family are originally from Karen State, Burma. They fled to the camp in December 2010 due to armed conflict. Her husband works as a day laborer just outside the camp, while she works as a teacher. During her free time, she plants vegetables around her home and makes traditional dresses to earn extra income.
Say is currently expecting her second child. Her doctors recommend that she deliver via a caesarean section due to a high-risk pregnancy. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child.
Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is helping Say undergo a C-Section on August 10th. This procedure will cost $1500, and Say needs your support.
Say said, “In the future, I want to be a good teacher and serve my community as much as I can, while taking good care of my family.”
