Rosette is a confident and outspoken 36-year-old housewife from Uganda. She is married and has two children who were both delivered by Caesarean section. She also has a history of one ectopic pregnancy. Rosette holds a degree in public administration, but due to a highly competitive job market, she has had difficulty getting a job. Now, she stays home taking care of her family and doing the cooking and washing. Her children are both in school studying, and her husband works as a private teacher. During her free time, Rosette enjoys spending time with her family. Rosette is currently expecting another child. Her doctors recommend that she deliver via a Caesarean section because of her previous scars. Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is helping Rosette deliver her baby safely. On March 21st, she will undergo a C-Section at AMH's care center. Now, she and her husband need help raising $252 to fund the procedure and care. Rosette shared, "I am really in a bad financial crisis, without your support, am not sure whether I can make this on my own. I need your support."

Sophal is a retired rice farmer from Cambodia. She lives in a small town on the Mekong river that is famous for having a small population of freshwater dolphins. Sophal has five sons, one daughter, and fifteen grandchildren that keep her busy. Her husband has also retired from their rice farm. Their daughter lives with them and farms rice and lotus for a living. Sophal shared that some of her favorite activities include joining ceremonies at her local pagoda, cooking, and looking after her house. About seven months ago, Sophal developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurry vision and sensitivity to light. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, so she cannot go out on her own. When Sophal learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), she traveled for eight and a half hours seeking treatment. On January 5th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly again. CSC is requesting $253 to fund this procedure. Sophal shared: "I hope my vision improves, and I can do housework and get around easily by myself. I want to walk to the pagoda by myself."

Meet Slai, a 41-year-old man who lives alone, and works as a security guard at night. In June 2020, when Slai was living in Burma, he started to sneeze frequently, and he also developed a constantly runny nose. Additionally, his nose became swollen, and his right nostril became blocked, making it difficult for Slai to breathe through his nose. At the local hospital, he was diagnosed with nasal polyps, and was given medication to treat his condition. However, when he moved to Thailand in January 2022, his symptoms returned, and doctors recommended surgery so he can breathe well again. Fortunately, our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, can help Slai access the treatment that he needs. On January 11th, Slai will undergo surgery to remove the polyps at Mae Sot General Hospital. Slai is looking to you to help raise the $1,500 to cover the cost of this procedure, which will allow him to breathe freely again. Slai said: "After completing my treatment, I want to be legally employed as a worker in Thailand. Driving is my profession, so I want to work as a driver, but I would be happy with any work opportunity.”
