Jul is a homemaker from Thailand. She lives with her husband, toddler son, and sister-in-law. Her husband is also a homemaker, and her sister-in-law is a student. During her free time, she enjoys looking after her son and doing household chores. She is currently expecting her second child. Her doctors recommend that she deliver via a Caesarean section because she previously gave birth through an emergency C-section. Delivering via C-section ensures the safety of both the mother and the child. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is helping Jul undergo a C-Section on January 30th. This procedure will cost $1500, and Jul and her family need your support. “I want to have a girl this time because I already have a son,” Jul said.

Som is a 68-year-old retired rice farmer from Kompong Cham. She has two sons, five daughters, and fifteen grandchildren. Sadly, ten years ago, her husband passed away from a heart attack. Since then, she has retired and lives with one of her sons who took over the rice farm. Her hobbies are cooking and visiting the mosque in her village. Around two years ago, Som developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her tearing and blurry vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, thus is unable to travel on her own. When Som learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for four and a half hours seeking treatment. On March 6th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and place an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $253 procedure. She said, "I want to be able to see again because I feel very afraid when I go out."

Joy is a small-scale farmer. She is a 45-year-old widow since 2011 and has four children, all of whom are in school: two in primary class four and two in high school. She lives in a semi-permanent house with two rooms, which she shared is almost falling down due to her inability to finance repairs. Joy has not sought medical treatment before since her small-scale farming cannot pay for her healthcare, She is appealing for your support to cover the cost of her surgery. Since about one year ago, Joy has had a supra-umbilical hernia. The swelling has severely impacted her ability to perform her daily activities, as she is unable to bend or lift anything, which reduces her work performance, leading to a poor quality of life. If left untreated, she faces the risk of intestinal obstruction. Fortunately, on April 13th, she will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner's care center. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $230 to fund Joy's surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live more comfortably and confidently. Joy says, “I am blessed to be in your favors, and I appeal for your consideration to help me to undergo surgery and resume my work.”
