Vanny is a 27-year-old rubber farm worker. He lives with his parents, who are also farmworkers, and his younger brother, who is in seventh grade. In his free time he likes listening to music, watching TV, meeting friends, and playing soccer with his brother.
In 2019, he was in a motor accident that caused a fracture of his right tibia. Vanny traveled to Vietnam to receive treatment at a hospital, where they installed a plate and screws to repair the fracture. His bone healed well, but Vanny still feels pain when walking and needs to have the hardware removed to eliminate the risk of infection.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On October 2nd, Vanny will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $230. This procedure will remove the problematic hardware and keep him from the risk of infection.
Vanny said, "My leg has healed, but I hope that after this surgery I can finally work without feeling any pain."
