Vanny is a 39-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. She and her husband have been married for 21 years and have three sons together, all of whom are still students. She and her husband work on the farm during the rainy season. Her husband works as a taxi driver in the dry season. In her free time, Vanny likes to take care of her garden and cook with her homegrown vegetables.
In May 2018, she was in a motor vehicle accident that caused a fracture in her left femur. She had an operation at a local hospital where they repaired her fracture by installing a nail. The fracture healed well but she still feels pain and discomfort where the hardware is installed.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On August 4th, Vanny will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $230. This procedure will relieve her pain and allow her leg to heal completely.
Vanny shared, “I am thankful to the doctors at Children’s Surgical Centre that will help me not feel any more pain in my leg.”
