Lon is a 61-year-old wife and mother from Cambodia. Lon has three sons and two grandchildren. She lives with her husband who is a security guard at a car dealership. She enjoys keeping up with the news on her phone.
Three years ago, Lon developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurred vision, irritation, and photophobia. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Lon learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled there with her son seeking treatment. On September 28th, doctors will perform phacoemulsification and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Lon said, “I hope my vision improves so I can be more independent and take care fo my grandchildren.”
