Michael is a six-year-old boy from Kenya. He is the youngest in a family of five children and is in 1st grade. Michael is very creative and loves making toy cars using wires. He enjoys having his friends visit and play with the toys he makes. Michael’s parents are farmers, working hard to provide for their family.
Michael was born with a clubfoot on his right foot. Clubfoot is a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape. This causes difficulty walking and even wearing shoes. From the day he was born, he started treatment with serial casting, where doctors put a cast on his foot to adjust his muscle and bone but his foot has not improved. Michael walks on tiptoe and often complains of pain while walking.
On September 24th, Michael will undergo clubfoot repair surgery and our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,286 to fund Michael’s treatment. After treatment, he will be able to walk without pain, play with his friends, and pursue his studies like other children.
Michael’s mother shared, “I am looking forward to seeing him walk like other children. I will be grateful to God, Cure Hospital, and the donors who support the hospital.”
