Ebenezer is a seven-month-old baby boy from Burundi. As his mother shared the journey that brought them to the hospital, little Ebenezer slept peacefully on her back, calm and unaware of everything happening around him. Ebenezer is the firstborn child in his family. According to his mother, the first days and weeks of motherhood have been far from what she had hoped. She has spent nights awake beside him, facing hospital stays, uncertainty, and the constant fear that his condition could become more serious. She and Ebenezer's father have remained hopeful despite their son's health challenges. The couple work as small-scale farmers to support their family. Soon after his birth, Ebenezer began to experience troubling symptoms, including an inability to pass stool, and his abdomen began to swell. His mother became deeply worried. She took him to a hospital where he was admitted and received treatment, but despite the efforts of the medical team, his condition did not improve. Eventually, the family was referred to our medical partner's care center, Kibuye Hope Hospital, for specialized care. Ebenezer has been diagnosed with Hirschpung disease, a congenital condition where a baby is born missing specific nerve cells in parts of the large intestine, leading to severe bowel blockages. Physicians recommend a laparotomy, which is a surgery that opens up the abdominal cavity to treat his condition. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $467 to fund Ebenezer's surgery. On September 22nd, he will undergo a laparotomy procedure at Kibuye Hope Hospital, allowing him a healthier life. Ebenezer’s mother shared, "Thank you to everyone who has supported us. We could never afford this treatment on our own, and our child needs care before his condition becomes more serious. May God bless everyone helping us and give us the chance to smile again with a healthy child."

Moth is a 32-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He is married and lives with his wife, who works in a garment factory, and their two children, one in Grade 5 and the other in kindergarten. Before his injury, he enjoyed playing volleyball with friends in his village. On August 9, 2026, Moth was lifting a 30-foot iron pole while working on his home when it came into contact with an electrical wire. The resulting electrical burns severely injured both his hands and feet. Although he received treatment, he continued to have painful wounds and dead tissue on his feet, requiring further treatment at Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC). His injuries have made daily activities difficult because of pain and limited movement in his left wrist and fingers. He has been unable to return to his usual work, leaving his wife to support the family alone. The cost of treatment has also placed the family under significant financial pressure, and he still has debts to repay. Moth has been experiencing pain and has damaged, blackened skin on both feet, with dead tissue and an infection around the toes of his right foot. His doctors recommend an amputation of the 4th and 5th toes of the right foot and the big toe of the left foot to prevent symptoms from getting worse. Moth will undergo surgery on October 27th, and once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably. He can contribute $25, but needs help raising $563 more to fund his procedure and care. Moth said, “I hope this surgery will help my feet heal and reduce my pain. I want to use my hands more easily and return to work when I’m able. My wife is supporting our family alone right now, and I hope to recover so I can help her and rebuild our lives together.”

Mohammed is a playful and intelligent seven-year-old boy from Ethiopia. He loves playing football, running, and spending time with his friends. He is a first-grade student and the second child in his family. Mohammed has one older brother and two younger sisters. His father works as a daily laborer, while his mother is a housewife. The family lives in a rented house and faces financial challenges. Mohammed was born with hypospadias, a condition that causes urinary dysfunction. Without treatment, he will continue to experience uncomfortable symptoms and will be at risk of future complications. When Mohammed was about one year old, they took him to a nearby health center. After examining him, the doctor advised the family to return when he was older, explaining that surgery could be performed at a later age. The family returned home, but as Mohammed grew older, they became increasingly concerned that the condition could affect his future. Fortunately, Mohammed is scheduled to undergo corrective surgery on August 17th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,293 to cover the cost of his procedure and care. After surgery, he should be able to live more comfortably. Mohammed's father shared, "Thank you so much to everyone for listening to our concerns and responding to our needs.
