Chouma is an intelligent and driven 34-year-old woman from Haiti. She was studying to be an engineer but stopped attending university when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Chouma has difficulty doing daily tasks and no longer participates in activities she enjoys because of the pain in her chest and arm. She feels embarrassed by her illness and hasn’t shared her diagnosis with many people.
Chouma remains hopeful and looks forward to the future. She plans to get married, begin a family and resume her studies. Additionally, Chouma wants to start a support group for other women with breast cancer.
With your help and support Chouma will receive several treatments for her cancer, including surgery, chemotherapy and hormone therapy. These treatments cost $1,500. Let’s give Chouma the chance to lead the life she dreams of and help other women with cancer.
