Yusuph is a one-year-old from Tanzania. He has been facing mobility challenges since birth. His left leg is twisted inward, making it difficult for him to stand and walk without support. He often holds onto objects to stabilize himself and has difficulty moving independently like other toddlers his age.
Yusuph has clubfoot on his left foot. Clubfoot is a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape, as the tissues connecting the muscle to the bones are shorter than usual, which causes difficulty walking and even wearing shoes.
Fortunately, Yusuph’s family was able to travel to visit our medical partner’s care center for help. On March 25th, he will undergo clubfoot repair treatment. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,119 to fund Yusuph’s surgery. After treatment, he will be able to walk well and wear shoes.
Yusuph’s father said: “We have been looking for the right treatment, but it has been hard on us because we lack the financial means to support it. We are grateful he might have a chance to get the right treatment and have a normal leg.”
