Vety is a 12-year-old student from Cambodia. She lives with her parents and her older sister. Her parents work as food sellers while her sister is in high school. Vety is a student in grade 6, where she enjoys her math and science classes. In her free time, she loves reading and spending time with her sister. Four years ago, Vety developed a mass on her right shin and it has been gradually getting larger over time. Her parents worry that if the mass is not removed, it will continue to grow and potentially cause complications in the future. Vety traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On August 27th, doctors at Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), will remove the mass. Now, Vety needs help to raise $265 to fund this procedure. Vety shared, "I feel uncomfortable because the mass keeps growing and might cause more problems if it isn't removed."

Amor is a widower and mother of two from the Philippines. She works as a laundrywoman, earning barely enough for her family's needs. During her free time, Amor loves singing and spending time with her neighbors. One year ago, Amor began to experience troubling symptoms, including abdominal pain which affected her back. Last March 2024, the pain became intolerable and Amor decided to consult with a doctor in her barangay where she was diagnosed with cholecystitis or stones in her gall bladder. Amor has been advised to undergo a cholecystectomy, the surgical removal of the gallbladder. If left untreated, her symptoms will continue to worsen and put her at risk for further health complications in the future. After seeking treatment through our medical partner, World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), Amor is scheduled to undergo a cholecystectomy on July 5th. A portion of the cost of the procedure is being supported by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and WSFP is raising the remaining $1,128 to cover the cost of Amor's surgery and care. Amor shared: "Thank you very much that you are able to help people like us who have no means to get treatment. God bless you all!"

Srey Nich is a 26-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. She is married with one child, and both she and her husband work as rice farmers. In her free time, Srey Nich enjoys cooking and playing with her two year-old daughter. When she was ten years old, Srey Nich had an ear infection. This infection caused the ear drum in both ears to perforate. For this reason, Srey Nich experiences recurrent ear discharge and dryness in both ears. She feels uncomfortable due to the ear discharge, and has difficulty communicating clearly with her family and others. Srey Nich traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On August 14th, she will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in both ears, where surgeons will close the perforations. Srey Nich is able to contribute $100 towards the cost of her treatment and needs help raising $814 more to fund the procedure. Srey Nich says, "After surgery, I hope to improve my hearing so I can focus on work and take better care of my daughter."
