Huoy is a 18-year-old garment factory worker. Huoy has two brothers and one sister. Currently, Huoy lives with her mother who grows and sells vegetables. In her free time, Huoy helps her mom with housework and spends time on social media. In mid-December 2021, Huoy was in motorbike accident and fractured her left forearm. At a local hospital, she had a screw and plate fixed to the bone to heal her fracture. Now, The fracture has healed but she still have pain, and she is afraid it will get worse and affect her work. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), can help. On January 12th, Huoy will undergo a fracture hardware removal procedure, which will cost $304. Removal of the hardware will reduce pain, reduce risk of infection, and improve mobility and use of her arm. Huoy shared, "After the plate and screw are removed, I hope I can move my arm and work comfortably."

Kidus is a cute and playful little boy. He loves playing with toys and football with other children. His favorite food is Shiro (Ethiopian staple food) and meat. He also loves watching cartoons and is good at observing and imitating some characters from cartoon shows. He is the only child in the family. His dad is a tailor, employed at a local tailor shop. His father uses the little income to provide food for their family and pay rent. Kidus was born with a congenital anomaly called bladder exstrophy and he underwent surgery at BethanyKids with Watsi's support in 2021 to heal this condition. He was also born with a congenital anomaly called epispadias and has an inguinal hernia. Now he is scheduled for epispadias and right inguinal hernia repair. Epispadias impacts his ability to urinate and puts him at risk of future complications. Kidus is now much more playful than beforeand his family can see how intelligent he is. His family also shared how very much better psychologically they feel after his first treatment. But they are still worried about his urinary condition. He is now scheduled for the two surgeries that will take place simultaneously, and his family needs financial support. Kidus' father said, “Kidus means the world to me. To see him completely well will bring me so much joy. I want him to have a great personality with a kind heart; just like the amazing people helping him recover and become healthy. I really hope that he becomes a doctor in the future and helps those who are in need.”

Khorn is a 41-year-old potato and corn farmer from Cambodia. He lives with and cares for his widowed mother in Battambang province. He has two brothers and three sisters who live nearby. Outside of farming, he likes to cook for his mother and siblings. Eight years ago, Khorn had an ear infection. This infection caused the tympanic membrane, or the ear drum, in his right ear to perforate. As a result, Khorn experiences ear discharge, pain, and hearing loss. He has had bilateral ear discharge on and off since he was six years old, which has impaired his speech. He had surgery on his left ear several years ago, but his right ear continues to interfere with his hearing and overall health. Khorn traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On March 7th, he will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in his right ear where surgeons will close the perforation. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $487 to fund this procedure. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care. Khorn said: "I hope I will get well from this illness after surgery. I want to improve my hearing and stop my ear discharge and pain. I can work on the farm to help feed my family when I feel good."
