Malita is a 50-year-old married mother of eight from Dedza District, Malawi. Before her illness, she lived an active life, working on a farm.
Since 2022, Malita has been experiencing painful abdominal swelling. The condition has significantly affected her daily life as both a farmer and a mother. Currently, the pain is so severe that she is unable to perform any household or farming activities, and her relatives have paused their own activities to care for her.
Malita had to visit several hospitals before finally being diagnosed with uterine fibroids. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus. Malita’s family has raised some funds for her surgery, but needs help with the remaining amount.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,363 to fund Malita’s surgery. On November 8th, she will undergo gynecological surgery at our medical partner’s care center, Partners in Hope Medical Center. Once recovered, Malita will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain.
Malita says, “I am in pain. Kindly save my life.”
