Elias is a baby from Ethiopia. He loves to play with his mother. His family lives in a small rental house and is having a hard time making ends meet.
Elias was born with an anorectal malformation, a congenital abnormality that leads to a complete or partial intestinal blockage. He needs to undergo a series of procedures to eliminate bowel dysfunction.
Elias is scheduled to undergo surgery to correct his condition on June 21. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $1,500 to cover the total cost of Elias’s procedure and care.
After his recovery, Elias will no longer experience bowel dysfunction or be at risk of developing health complications in the future.
His mother says, “I am very concerned and sad because of my child’s condition. It is hard as a mother to see your child in this condition. I tried my best to get him treatment. I went to religious and other institutions in order to get help. I did not get a positive response until I came here. Now I am hopeful he will treatment.”
