Daw Win is a 66-year-old woman from Burma who lives with her daughter, grandson, and two granddaughters in Phop Phra District, Tak Province, Thailand. In 2022, the family fled their home in Bago Division, Burma, to escape nearby conflict. Daw Win is a homemaker, and her grandchildren are students. Her daughter is a teacher and also picks up work as a day labourer during school holidays. In late December 2025, Daw Win started experiencing lower abdominal pain and pressure around the mass when sitting. She has frequent urination and cannot sit for long periods of time due to the pain, preferring to lie down on her side. She has been diagnosed with a uterine myoma. She has been advised to undergo a total abdominal hysterectomy, the surgical removal of her uterus and cervix. If left untreated, Daw Win's symptoms will continue to worsen and put her at risk for further health complications in the future. Fortunately, Daw Win is scheduled to undergo her hysterectomy on June 11th. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is requesting $1,500 to cover the total cost of her procedure and care. Once recovered, this surgery will help Daw Win be free from pain and discomfort, and she will be able to spend time with her family and help with household chores comfortably. Daw Win said, "After surgery, I will return home to help with household chores and take care of my grandkids so that my daughter can go back to work full-time. Hav is a four-year-old boy from Cambodia. He is the only child in his family and currently lives with his grandmother, who is a rice farmer. Because of financial difficulties, his parents have moved to the city to find construction work. He enjoys playing with toys with his cousins, and his favorite foods are fried pork and eggs. Around May 2026, Hav suffered an electric burn to his left hand. Although the wound healed with basic wound care, scar tissue gradually formed and tightened around his left ring finger. The scar contracture has tightened the skin around his left ring finger, making it difficult for him to fully straighten and move the finger. This can also make it harder for him to use his hand comfortably while playing and during other everyday activities. When Hav's family learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), they traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On September 17th, surgeons at CSC will perform a burn contracture release surgery to address the scar that is restricting his ring finger, helping him move it more naturally. Better finger movement can support his ability to play, explore, and use his hand as he grows. Now, he needs help to fund this $652 procedure. Hav's grandmother said, “I hope the surgery will help my grandson move and straighten his finger more easily. He is still very young, and I hope he can use his hand comfortably as he grows, plays, and learns.”

Edward is a 63-year-old man from Malawi. He is married with five children, and earns a living through roasting and selling peanuts within his community. Although all five of his children are married, they are supporting their own families, and are unable to provide significant financial assistance. At his age, he earns very little income from his business, which is often insufficient to meet his daily needs. Three years ago, Edward was diagnosed with a right inguinal hernia, a condition that occurs when abdominal tissue protrudes through a weak spot in the lower abdominal muscles, causing a bulge in the groin area. He first noticed a small swelling, which he ignored because it was painless and he believed it would resolve on its own. Over time, the swelling began to appear intermittently, and later started causing abdominal pain and discomfort. Concerned about his worsening condition, his brother advised him to seek medical attention at Partners in Hope Medical Center (PIH). At the hospital, his diagnosis was confirmed, and a surgical repair recommended. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Edward receive treatment. On September 16th, he will undergo hernia repair surgery at PIH to relieve his symptoms, allowing him to live a healthier life. Now, Edward needs help to fund this $575 procedure. He says: "Your support will give me a whole new life, and help me to enjoy my life in good health."
