Lar is an 18-year-old from Burma. He lives with his parents and six siblings in Karen State, Burma. His parents and three of his siblings work in farming and mining. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies and reading tactical books and war history.
In 2023, Lar noticed a swelling and pain in his jaw but did not seek medical attention, believing it was not a serious issue. However, the swelling continued, forcing him to see a doctor. Lar was diagnosed with a right mandible bone cyst and was told he needed surgery.
Lar sought treatment through our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund. He is now scheduled to undergo mass removal surgery on June 12th and needs help to raise $1,500 to cover the total cost of his procedure and care.
Lar shared, “I want to become a leader and serve my community one day.”

After surgery, Lar’s swelling is decreased, and the pain is gone. Lar plans to return home and help his parents with their works. He will later return to Chiang Mai for his follow-up appointment to continue treatment. He is very thankful to donors for helping him with his treatment cost.
Lar said, “My parents are poor and if they have to pay for my treatment cost, I won’t be able to come to Chiang Mai and receive treatment as they cannot afford for it. I won’t know what is wrong with me as I don’t understand clearly about my condition. However, with the help from donors, I received successful treatment, and I would like to say thank you for supporting my treatment cost.”
