Naroth is a 51-year-old woman who works as a farmer in Kampong Cham province. She grows vegetables and some fruits. Naroth is married and has one son, one daughter, and three grandchildren. She lives with her husband, who is also a farmer, while her son works as a chef. In her free time, she enjoys watching comedy shows and listening to monks chanting on her phone. About two years ago, Naroth developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. A cataract is a clouding of the lens of the eye, so it is like looking through a frosty or fogged-up window. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, so she is not able to go places on her own. When Naroth learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for three hours seeking treatment. On May 4th, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $263 procedure. Naroth said, "I hope that after surgery, my eyesight will improve so I can see clearly, move around more easily, and return to growing vegetables with confidence."

Adriana is a seven-year-old girl from Colombia. Approximately one year ago, she was first evaluated by a pediatric dentist, who diagnosed multiple deep dental cavities. Since then, she has been under ongoing observation. However, the progression of the disease has led to inflammation, the presence of pus, and difficulty eating. Although Adriana isn't currently experiencing any pain, her condition significantly impairs her physical and functional development. The management process of Adriana's condition has been complex, and it was ultimately determined that treatment must be performed under general anesthesia due to the number of affected teeth and the patient’s young age. Fortunately, Adriana will receive treatment from our medical partner, Clínica Noel, on April 20th. They are requesting $1,109 to cover the cost of her treatment. This will not only alleviate Adriana's physical pain but will also significantly contribute to restoring her quality of life and overall development. Adriana's mother shares, "As a mother, my greatest hope is that my daughter can improve her quality of life, grow up to be a healthy child, become more independent, and have better opportunities for her future. We are currently seeking support to access the treatment she needs, in the hope of providing her with a fuller, more dignified life and greater opportunities for development. We are fully confident that, with the right help, her treatment will be successful and she will make a full recovery. Chantha is a 36-year-old grocery seller from Cambodia. Her husband works in a shop, and they have two young children. In her free time, she enjoys teaching her children and managing the household. Ten years ago, Chantha suffered an ear infection. This infection caused her left eardrum to perforate. For this reason, she experiences pain, swelling, ringing in her ear, and ear discharge. The condition causes discomfort but also gradual hearing loss, which is affecting her daily life and activities. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is helping Chantha receive treatment. On April 1st, she will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in her left ear. During this procedure, surgeons will close the perforation. She can contribute $100, but needs help raising $263 more to fund her procedure and care. Chantha says, “I hope that after this surgery, the years of pain, discharge, and hearing loss in my ear will end, and I can feel relief and comfort once more.”
