Ravy is a happy, four year old boy, living with his grandmother in Cambodia. His parents work in a nearby brick factory. Ravy was born with cerebral palsy. He enjoys spending time with his grandmother, and watching shows on YouTube. Ravy spends a lot of time sitting in a wheelchair, and over the last year, his hip has become dislocated, causing him pain and discomfort. Because Ravy's condition is difficult to treat, he was referred to the doctors at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre. On January 10th, Ravy will undergo an osteotomy, a procedure where his hip bone will be cut and reshaped, to facilitate improved sitting balance in his wheelchair, and to prevent additional stiffness and pain for him in the future. Now Ravy and his family need your support to fund the $469 cost of the procedure. Ravy's mother said: "I hope my son feels better after surgery."

Norah is a small-scale farmer - she had two children but lost her firstborn at the age of 19 due to a heart condition. Her other child is 17 years old and currently in secondary school. She shared that she had to leave her husband because she could not stay in his home district as she always became sick whenever she was there. She now lives with her elderly mother whom she has been taking care of. For two years, Norah has been experiencing lower abdominal pains which she thought would disappear with time in vain. In December 2022, her condition deteriorated. She recently reported to Rushoroza Hospital seeking treatment. She has been diagnosed with multiple intra-uterine myomas. This condition has affected her daily activities making it hard for her to look after her mother properly. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $319 to fund Norah's surgery. On March 4th, she will undergo gynecological surgery at our medical partner's care center. Once recovered, Norah will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain. Norah says, “I hope to live a normal life once again through surgery so that I may be able to take good care of myself and my mother through my farming.”

Kyi is a 57-year-old woman from Burma. She is a health worker at a clinic in Karen State and is attending the emergency obstetric care (EmOC) training in Thailand. Her husband volunteers in the community, working closely with the Karen Forestry Department. He also helps with the household chores, grows rice and vegetables, and raises chickens for their consumption. In her free time, Kyi enjoys staying at the clinic, treating patients, and talking to her patients and colleagues. Currently, Kyi is experiencing back and abdominal pain, fatigue, and other worrisome symptoms. The doctors want Kyi to undergo a CT scan, a procedure in which x-ray images taken from several angles are combined to produce cross-sectional images of the body. This scan will help doctors diagnose her condition and formulate an appropriate treatment plan. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund (BCMF), is requesting $414 to cover the cost of Kyi's CT scan and care, which is scheduled for February 23rd. Kyi said: "I came here to attend the training for one month, but with this condition, I don't enjoy the training, and I have missed training many days so I cannot understand the lesson well."
