Mohammed is a playful and intelligent seven-year-old boy from Ethiopia. He loves playing football, running, and spending time with his friends. He is a first-grade student and the second child in his family. Mohammed has one older brother and two younger sisters. His father works as a daily laborer, while his mother is a housewife. The family lives in a rented house and faces financial challenges. Mohammed was born with hypospadias, a condition that causes urinary dysfunction. Without treatment, he will continue to experience uncomfortable symptoms and will be at risk of future complications. When Mohammed was about one year old, they took him to a nearby health center. After examining him, the doctor advised the family to return when he was older, explaining that surgery could be performed at a later age. The family returned home, but as Mohammed grew older, they became increasingly concerned that the condition could affect his future. Fortunately, Mohammed is scheduled to undergo corrective surgery on August 17th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,293 to cover the cost of his procedure and care. After surgery, he should be able to live more comfortably. Mohammed's father shared, "Thank you so much to everyone for listening to our concerns and responding to our needs. Vichea is seven years old and a Grade 3 student from Cambodia. He lives in Kampot Province with his parents and his three-year-old younger brother. His father is a farmer, and his mother is a vegetable seller. He enjoys studying mathematics and playing football with his friends. He dreams of becoming a police officer when he grows up. On August 3, 2026, Vichea fell while playing with his friends at school, causing a closed fracture of his right wrist. The fracture causes swelling and pain in his right wrist, making it difficult for him to move his hand, hold objects, write, eat, and participate in school and play activities. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On August 5th, Vichea will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will cost $600. This procedure will realign and stabilize the fractured bone, helping his wrist heal properly. After recovery, he will be able to use his hand more comfortably, return to school, and play with his friends again. Vichea's father said, “Seeing my son in pain is very difficult. I hope this surgery will help him recover completely so he can return to his normal life as soon as possible.”

George is a 10-year-old boy from Kenya who enjoys playing and learning new things. His mother is a casual worker who earns a small and irregular income from activities such as selling fruits. Her income is often barely enough to meet the family’s basic needs. George was born unable to perceive sound, which has made it difficult for him to make friends and participate in school. He has learned to lip read to communicate, but the limitations have left him feeling isolated in the classroom when the teacher addresses him but he cannot understand what is being asked of him. Doctors have recommended that George be fitted with hearing aids. They would give him an opportunity to improve his ability to access sound and communication, participate more meaningfully in school, interact with his peers, and communicate more easily with his mother and those around him. Fortunately, our medical partner African Mission Healthcare (AMH) can help. George is scheduled to be fitted with hearing aids on October 2nd, and he and his family need your help raising $1,171 in order to fund the devices. Hearing aids could help restore George's confidence and give him renewed hope for his education and future.
