Loveness is a beautiful baby girl from Kenya. After 8 difficult months of medical monitoring, treatment, and post-surgical complications, Loveness has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a condition in which excess cerebrospinal fluid accumulates in the brain and increases intracranial pressure. As a result of her condition, Loveness has been experiencing an increasing head circumference and is now largely unresponsive to her surroundings. Without further treatment, Loveness will experience severe physical and developmental delays.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $719 to cover the cost of surgery for Loveness’s hydrocephalus. The procedure is scheduled to take place on November 7th and will drain the excess fluid from her brain. This will reduce intracranial pressure and greatly improve her quality of life. With proper treatment, Loveness will hopefully develop into a strong, healthy young girl.
Loveness’s mother shares: “Right now, seeing my daughter just react to my presence would mean a lot to me. It tears me apart to see her go through all these hardships while still so young. My prayer is that she will get better and I can take her home with me, and we can continue with our lives together because we only have each other.”
