Rosalia is a 71-year-old widow from the Philippines. She lives with her granddaughter, while her only daughter works to support their household. Rosalia has a passion for gardening, cultivating vegetables to ensure a steady supply of food.
In January, Rosalia discovered a lump in her right breast. She sought medical attention at our medical partner’s care center, Our Lady of Peace Hospital, where she was diagnosed with cancer of the right breast. She needs to undergo a mastectomy to prevent the cancer from metastasizing.
Our medical partner, World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), is helping Rosalia receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a mastectomy on June 9th. A portion of the cost of her treatment is being supported by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and WSFP is raising $990 to cover the remaining cost. After treatment, Rosalia will hopefully return to a cancer-free life.
Rosalia said: “This assistance will greatly help me and my daughter lessen our financial load. Thank you to everyone who is there for us in this difficult time.”
