This smiley kid is Jeff, a one-year-old from Haiti. Jeff has hydrocephalus, a condition in which fluid accumulates in his skull and puts pressure on his brain. This condition is potentially fatal.
Jeff’s mother used to run a food-selling business, but business has been slow lately. As a result, she cannot afford Jeff’s treatment. When Jeff is healthy, she says she intends to go to school to learn a new skill so that she can better provide for Jeff.
For $1,260 a surgical procedure can be performed that will drain the excess fluids from Jeff’s skull and save his life. His head will return a normal size and he has a good chance of a healthy, productive childhood. Let’s help Jeff and his family out!
