Loshiye is a nine-year-old boy from Tanzania. He lives with his mother and four siblings and enjoys playing with his friends and going to school.
When Loshiye was two years old, his legs began to bend. Over time, the bend in his legs has increased and become very painful. His mother wanted to bring him to the hospital but had to care for his four siblings and was not able to make the journey. Loshiye’s uncle was able to bring him to see the doctors, who diagnosed him with bilateral genu valgus, commonly known as knock knees. Surgery has been recommended to correct the issue.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $838 to fund Loshiye’s surgery. This will be added to the $45 that Loishye’s mother has been able to raise. Loishye is scheduled for treatment on October 27 at our medical partner’s care center, Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre. After treatment, Loishye will be able to grow and develop normally.
“I am grateful and hopeful that I will soon be able to walk without pain,” Loishye says. “Thank you all so much.”
