Loland is a one-year-old boy from Uganda. Grace, his grandmother, grows maize, millet, potatoes, and groundnuts to support the family and fund their education. She enjoys weaving mats from traditional materials for domestic use.
A month ago, Loland started losing weight and appetite. Grace took him to a nearby health center, where he was diagnosed with malnutrition. Loland was given some antibiotics and nutrition but he did not improve, so was taken to the hospital. Loland needs malnutrition treatment to restore his growth and development. He will begin the $316 treatment on September 22.
Grace says that before he became sick, Loland was a jolly boy who liked playing with other children in the village. Grace looks forward to starting a business to support her grandson’s school fees and her children.
“I thank donors for supporting my grandson’s treatment,” says Grace.
