Murungi is a two-year-old boy growing up in Uganda as the only child to his parents.
About a month ago, Murungi’s mother noticed a swelling on her son’s right scrotum. She took him to a health center, where he was diagnosed with a hernia and was advised to have surgery at a hospital. However, she could not afford to pay for treatment.
She decided to bring Murungi to our medical partner’s care center. Murungi is currently scheduled to undergo surgery on April 19 to repair the hernia. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $249 to pay for the expenses of the operation, which will include the costs of surgical equipment, medicine, and Murungi’s hospital care.
Murungi’s mother is worried about her son’s condition, as she says, “I am requesting help for my son. He is in need of surgery, but I am unable to pay for it.”
