Srey Moch is a 39-year-old mom of two from Cambodia with a daughter in fifth grade and a son in eighth grade. Her husband is a chef and she sells rice. In her free time, she likes watching movies with her kids. Ten years ago, Srey Moch had an ear infection that caused the ear drum in her right ear to perforate. Because of this, Srey Moch experiences ear pain, hearing loss, and tinnitus. She cannot communicate clearly at work and frequently experiences discomfort. Srey Moch traveled to our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, to receive treatment. On March 6th, she will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in her right ear, during which surgeons will close the perforation. CSC is requesting $487 to cover the procedure, medications, supplies, and inpatient care. Srey Moch said, "I hope my hearing will improve after surgery and I can do more during work."

Zaw, who is 29 years old, lives with his wife and extended family members in Karen State, Burma. He and his wife are currently unemployed, although Zaw hopes to work as a second-hand motorbike seller. Zaw has had an irregular heartbeat since he was 10 years old. Although he visited a local clinic as a child, he was never provided a definitive diagnosis. By January 2022, he began to experience fatigue. His back and neck were stiff, and he lost his appetite. He also had difficulty sleeping, experienced a persistent cough and body aches, and his lips turned blue. After multiple hospital visits, Zaw was told he had a heart condition that required surgery. Unable to afford surgery in Burma, Zaw sought affordable care at Mae Tao Clinic (MTC) in Thailand. With the help of our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, he received a free echocardiogram, which revealed he had mitral valve regurgitation, atrial valve regurgitation, pulmonary valve regurgitation, and patent ductus arteriosus. He is now scheduled for a procedure at Kasemrad Prachachuen Hospital in Bangkok on April 18th to repair or replace three of his valves and address any other issues with his heart. Currently, Zaw continues to experience fatigue, thus he is unable to work. He experiences shortness of breath and a racing heartbeat, for which he requires oxygen therapy three times a day. He needs your help to raise the $1,500 to fund his life-changing surgery. Zaw said: “I want to be free from this disease as soon as possible. Thank you all for helping with my treatment cost.”

George is a bright, caring, and empathetic man from Uganda. He and his wife practice farming to earn a living for their family. They have six children: three daughters and three sons. Two of George's daughters are teachers, one is a farmer, and his sons are still young and studying in school. George's parents passed away, and he was able to complete high school before being unable to continue due to a lack of school fees. George is also involved in politics, serving as the chairperson of his village, and works as a music trainer at his church. Most of George's time goes toward farming with his wife. Due to limited land, they mostly grow crops for their family's consumption and sell the surplus to generate income for their family. For over three years, George has had a supra umbilical hernia. While not initially painful, George recently began to experience piercing pain after eating, lifting heavy objects, or walking long distances. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is helping George receive treatment. On April 4th, he will undergo hernia repair surgery at AMH's care center. Once completed, this procedure will allow him to live more comfortably and confidently. AMH is requesting $230 to fund George's surgery. George said: "With your support, I hope to be operated on and get well."
