Daud is 58 years old and a farmer from Malawi. He is a devoted father of seven children and a grandfather caring for four grandchildren under his roof. He lives a simple life centered around maize farming, which serves as the main source of food and income for his extended family. Like many hardworking men in his community, his days are spent in the garden, tending to his crops to ensure his family’s survival. For two years, Daud has had a left inguinal hernia. One day, while working in his field, Daud began to feel a sharp pain in his abdomen. Over time, the pain and discomfort have increased, making it increasingly difficult for him to carry out his daily activities, including farming. Fortunately, on April 9th, he will undergo hernia repair surgery with the help of our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare. Daud is raising $500 to fund the procedure, which will allow him to live more comfortably. Daud said, "Despite the challenges that I'm facing, I remain hopeful that the upcoming surgery will restore my health and allow me to return to my garden, continue supporting my family, and enjoy life with my children and grandchildren once again."

Nilo is 48 years old and a hardworking father from the Philippines. He has two children, both of whom are in school. Four months ago, Nilo began to experience troubling symptoms, including pain in the stomach and the back. Nilo was diagnosed with gallstones and has been advised to undergo a cholecystectomy, the surgical removal of the gallbladder. If left untreated, his symptoms will continue to worsen and put her at risk for further health complications in the future. After seeking treatment through our medical partner, World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), Nilo is scheduled to undergo a cholecystectomy on May 2nd. A portion of the procedure's cost is being covered by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and WSFP is raising the remaining $1,031 to cover the cost of Nilo's surgery and care. Nilo shared, "I am deeply grateful for Watsi's help. I hope more people can receive and benefit from this opportunity."

N is a 54-year-old woman from Burma. She lives with her husband, and they both work as day laborers. Nwet also grows vegetables in her home backyard for household consumption. Nwet has two sons and one daughter who live in nearby villages with their own families. In her free time, Nwet likes doing chores and watching movies. Last April, N began to experience troubling symptoms. Doctors suspect the presence of stones in her urethra and recommend a ureteroscopy to be able to treat her symptoms. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund (BCMF), is requesting $1,500 for this procedure. The treatment is scheduled to take place on February 10th. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully alleviate her symptoms. N expressed her gratitude and said, “I am very thankful to BCMF and the donors who are providing financial support for my surgery. I want to recover as soon as possible after surgery, so that I can return to work as a daily laborer, save money, and repay my debt.
