Bromnic is a 16-year-old from Kenya and the second born in a family of three. Sadly, he lost both of his parents when his father passed away after a long illness, and his mother passed away after giving birth to his youngest sister. Bromnic and his siblings were taken in by their uncle, who had six children of his own.
Bromnic has a misalignment of both feet. The condition began when he was eight, and his uncle noticed he was walking differently. At first, only one leg was affected. Hoping it would improve, his uncle massaged it and applied oil, but the problem worsened. Soon, both of Bromnic’s legs started bending inward. Later, his family learned that this condition is called knock knees deformity. As time passed, walking became painful and difficult for Bromnic, and he could no longer go to school due to the pain. Fortunately, his family heard about a CURE Hospital mobile clinic that was coming nearby and decided to visit the clinic in hopes of finding help. The doctors examined Bromnic and explained that he could get corrective surgery to straighten his legs. He is now scheduled for surgery that will allow him to walk, run, and even play football, which has filled Bromnic with hope for the future.
On March 26th, Bromnic will undergo surgery to correct this condition and improve his quality of life. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,224 to cover the cost of Bromnic’s procedure and care.
Bromnic said, “I am hopeful that I will get well and continue to walk, run, and play football like my friends. Thanks to CURE hospital and the donor for providing support towards my treatment.”
