Mopin is a 29-year-old blacksmith from Cambodia. He lives in Tbong Khmum Province with his wife and their three-year-old son. His wife stays at home to care for their child. In his free time, he enjoys playing football with his friends in the village. In May 2026, Mopin suffered an electric shock and fell from a staircase, causing a fracture-dislocation of his left shoulder. After the accident, he received traditional treatment, but his pain and limited shoulder movement did not improve. Nearly two months later, he visited a local health center, where an X-ray revealed a fracture-dislocation of the left humeral head. He continues to experience severe shoulder pain, deformity, and restricted movement, making it difficult to lift or use his left arm. As a result, he is unable to work as a blacksmith or perform many everyday activities independently. Mopin was referred to our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), for specialized care. On July 15th, Mopin will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will stabilize the fractured shoulder, restore its alignment, reduce pain, and improve arm movement so he can return to work and daily activities. He can contribute $50, but needs help raising $550 more to fund his procedure and care. Mopin said, "I hope this surgery will take away my shoulder pain and help me move my arm normally again. I want to return to work and take care of myself without depending on others."

Phary is a six-year-old student from Cambodia. She lives in a small neighbourhood near Phnom Penh with her parents and her two-year-old younger sister. Her parents sell clothes to support the family and work hard to provide for their children. She is in Grade 1 and enjoys learning to read and write Khmer. In her free time, she likes playing with toys with her younger sister. Her favorite foods are caramelized pork and grilled fish, and she dreams of becoming a doctor when she grows up. Phary was born with an abnormality in her right leg. Three months ago, she underwent surgery to correct the position of her leg. Doctors implanted metal plates in her right leg to help repair the abnormal bone. Recently, the area around the metal plate became infected and swollen. This has caused her pain and made it difficult for her to walk comfortably. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On March 16th, Phary will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $378. This treatment will help remove the infection and allow her leg to heal so she can walk comfortably again and return to her normal activities as a child. Phary's mother shared, “I feel very worried seeing my child in pain and having difficulty walking. I hope the doctors can treat her so the infection will heal and she can walk comfortably again like other children.”

Restetuta is a 48-year-old mother of seven children from Uganda. She and her husband depend on small-scale farming to provide food for their family and earn a modest income from selling any surplus produce. In addition to farming, her husband serves as a preacher, sharing the Word of God within their community. About three years ago, Restetuta began to experience troubling symptoms, including abdominal fullness, particularly in the upper left side of her abdomen. She experiences early satiety, abdominal swelling, and persistent fatigue, making it increasingly difficult to carry out her daily activities. She sought treatment at several hospitals, where she was repeatedly advised to seek specialized care at a larger facility. Eventually, she came to Rwibaale Hospital, where she was examined. She was diagnosed with massive splenomegaly, which is an extreme enlargement of the spleen. Physicians recommend a laparotomy, which is a surgery that opens up the abdominal cavity to treat her condition. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $230 to fund Restetuta's surgery. On July 7th, she will undergo surgery at Rwibaale Health Center. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully greatly improve her quality of life. Restatuta says, "I hope the pain will go away after treatment, and I will be able to eat comfortably without the feeling abdominal fullness."
