Srey Pich is a is cheerful and active girl from Cambodia. She lives in Kompot Province with her parents, who are both rice farmers. She is the only child in the family. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her toys. Srey Pich was born with congenital pseudarthrosis of the right tibia caused by neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). The condition caused her right lower leg to bow and fracture easily. Although she underwent reconstructive surgeries in 2024 and 2025, she later fell and re-injured her right leg. The condition causes pain, deformity, and difficulty walking. It limits her ability to run, play, and participate in childhood activities, and she requires ongoing orthopedic treatment to protect her leg and maintain bone healing. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On July 16th, Srey Pich will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will cost $600. This treatment will help stabilize her right leg, promote bone healing, improve her ability to walk safely, and allow her to continue growing and playing with greater confidence. Srey Pich's mother said, “Since she was born, we have worried about her leg and whether she would ever be able to walk normally. Seeing her take her first independent steps after surgery gave us so much hope. We pray this treatment will continue to strengthen her leg so she can keep walking, running, and enjoying her childhood like other children.”

Srey Nich is an 18-year-old student from Cambodia. She lives with her grandmother, a retired rice farmer, and her younger sister, who is in Grade 2. Her parents divorced five years ago, and her mother works as a factory worker to support the family. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music. She is currently studying in Grade 12 and hopes to continue her education. Srey Nich was born with distal arthrogryposis, a congenital condition that causes stiffness and deformities in the joints of her hands and feet. She previously underwent surgery on her left hand at our medical partner's care center, the Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), to improve its function. Although the surgery helped, the remaining hardware now causes occasional pain and needs to be removed. On August 6th, Srey Nich will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will help improve the stability and comfort as she uses her hand. It will allow her to use her hands more easily for studying and everyday activities. Her family can contribute $10, but needs help raising $368 more to fund her procedure and care. Srey Nich said, “I hope it will feel more comfortable after the hardware is removed so I can use my hand more easily for writing, studying, and all that I do everyday.”

Zin is a 36-year-old man from Burma. He lives with his wife, one daughter, and two sons in Mae Sot, Tak Province, Thailand. He works as a part-time teacher in Mae Sot, while his wife is a homemaker. Zin's daughter and one son attend school, while the youngest son is too young to attend school. Unfortunately, Zin had to stop working in June 2026 because of his health issues. For their basic healthcare, the family usually visits Mae Tao Clinic (MTC) in Mae Sot, which provides free healthcare services. Zin was diagnosed with a heart condition that requires valve replacement. Heart valves control the flow of blood between chambers, but certain conditions may narrow the heart valve or cause the blood to flow backwards. Normal valve function is necessary to prevent long-term damage to the heart and lungs. Currently, Zin is still suffering from breathlessness on exertion and severe shortness of breath that wakes him after falling asleep. He mentioned that since his last visit to Mae Sot Hospital, his symptoms have become more severe. He can only walk a short distance and cannot sleep at night because of the breathlessness. Because of his health condition and inability to work, the family is facing financial difficulties, along with emotional stress and worry. After his surgery, follow-up visits, and full recovery, Zin plans to find a job to support his family’s daily expenses and continue living with his family. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is requesting $1,500 to fund a heart valve replacement for Zin. The treatment is scheduled to take place on September 1st at our medical partner's care center, Kasemrad Prachachuen Hospital, and once completed, will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably. Zin expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you so much indeed to the organisation [BCMF] and the donors for your willingness and kindness in assisting with my surgery costs. I cannot fully describe in words how happy and thankful I am that I now have the opportunity to undergo surgery, which I could not even dream of without your support.
