She incurred debt while caring for her mother, and cannot even come close to being able to afford the hysterectomy she needs to treat her condition. She is looking for help to raise $540 to cover the cost of her surgery, which will allow her to recover fully and begin working again.

Zin Mar is a lighthearted woman with a great sense of humor who lives with her family in Thailand. When Zin Mar was just six months old, she received an injectable medication that caused sciatic nerve damage and an abscess on her leg. Her parents could not afford the cost of her hospital bills so her condition went untreated. Today, Zin Mar is not able to walk without holding on to a family member for support. Ma Aye is a 57-year-old grandmother who lives in a small village in Burma. She has seven adult children and three grandchildren. Her husband passed away ten years ago, so she now lives with her daughter and son-in-law. The family grows rice and livestock on their farm, which provides enough food to eat, but brings in very little money for other necessities. Recently, Ma Aye was diagnosed with a large, painful mass in her uterus. The growth is pressing on her bladder, causing intense discomfort and sapping her energy. The situation has become so bad that Ma Aye is having difficulty completing her daily tasks. Ma Aye says she "wants to see her grandchildren grow and help take care of them." For $880, we can remove this mass via a hysterectomy and improve Ma Aye's quality of life. This surgery will enable Ma Aye to get back to living a productive and full life.

Chorn is a 74-year-old man from Cambodia who likes spending time with his family and listening to the radio. A farmer in a small town, Chorn was in a field when his hip was injured by a cow. Chorn has been diagnosed with a hip fracture, and he’s described the pain as being unbearable. A $500 hip replacement surgery would decrease Chorn’s pain, restore his mobility, and allow him to return to work.

Roberto is a man from Guatemala with a renewed lease on life! Though he has had diabetes for many years, he has only recently been able to afford treatment. He has been doing great. However, in addition to diabetes, Roberto also has an enlarged prostate, which has been causing him to have severe problems with urination. People with diabetes have fragile kidneys, and Roberto is at risk for kidney infections and damage due to the combination of diabetes and an enlarged prostate. He is currently receiving a stop-gap treatment for his problem, but this treatment has its own risks and stigmas.
