Phyu is a 35-year-old woman from Burma. She lives with her husband and her daughter in Mae Sot District, Tak Province, Thailand. She is a teacher, while her husband looks after their daughter at home. In her free time, she plays with her daughter and cleans her house. In early January 2025, she noticed a small mass in her right breast. By October, the mass grew bigger, prompting her to seek medical care. She underwent a biopsy, which revealed she has early-stage breast cancer. Doctors recommend she undergo surgery to remove the mass, which will help prevent the cancer from spreading. Phyu sought treatment through our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund. She is scheduled to undergo mass removal surgery on January 20th. She is requesting $1,500 to cover the total cost of her procedure and care. Phyu said, "I am worried and want to receive surgery as soon as possible. I would like to say thank you to donors and BCMF for supporting my treatment cost while I cannot do it by myself."

Rith is an 18-year-old high school student from Takeo Province, Cambodia. He lives with his parents and two younger siblings. His father works as a construction worker, and his mother works in a footwear factory. He is currently in 9th grade and hopes to become an army officer in the future. In his free time, he enjoys playing volleyball with his friends in the village. Three months ago, Rith was involved in a motor vehicle accident that caused paralysis of his right arm. He has been diagnosed with a brachial plexus injury — damage to the nerve network that transmits signals from the spine to the shoulder, arm, and hand. As a result, he experiences shoulder droop, pain, numbness and is unable to lift his right arm, making it difficult to perform daily activities and basic self-care. Fortunately, on May 7th, Rith will undergo brachial plexus repair surgery with the help of our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre. His family can contribute $75, but they need help raising an additional $662 to fund his procedure and care. The surgery will allow him to regain movement and independence in his daily life. Rith said, “I hope the surgery will reduce my pain and help me regain movement in my hand and shoulder so I can return to my normal daily activities.”

Jeronimo is a little boy from Colombia. He lives in Támesis, Antioquia with his parents. He is curious and intelligent, full of dreams and eager to get ahead. Jeronimo was diagnosed with a birth defect in a sensitive area. If left untreated, Jeronimo has an increased risk of developing hernias, testicular cancer, and fertility problems in the future. Knowing of these future complications has been difficult for Jeronimo's family, especially given their financial circumstances. The opportunity to receive care would represent an immense blessing for their family and new hope for Jeronimo's future. Fortunately, Jeronimo will be receiving assistance from our medical partner, Clinica Noel. He is scheduled to undergo corrective surgery on February 24th. Clinica Noel is requesting $1,167 to cover the cost of his procedure and care. His parents shared that they hope treatment will significantly transform Jeronimo's quality of life. Jeronimo's mother expresses her gratitude for the support, saying, "I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every person who has supported my son.
