Maria is a 52-year-old woman from Uganda. She is married and has six children. Maria grows beans and millet. The little money she gets after harvesting her yields is used to buy essentials for the family.
For three years, Maria has had an epigastric hernia, which causes upper middle abdomen swelling associated with pain. The doctor examined her and a herniorrhaphy was recommended.
Maria will undergo surgery on November 7th and our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is requesting $201 to fund Maria’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live more comfortably.
Maria says, “I thank God for his protection because I have been sick for a long time without getting money for seeking treatment. however, I visited a government health facility two times, and they advised me to go for an operation, but I did not get money to access the services. I am glad AMH and the donors can help. I will keep practicing farming after recovery to take good care of my family.’’
