Samnang is a 30-year-old agriculture worker from Cambodia. He takes care of the cows on a farm, and does additional work planting and selling vegetables. He loves music and cooking for his family. One year ago, Samnang was in a motor accident. After falling off his motorbike, he fractured his right elbow. He traveled to recieve emergency care at a public hospital in Phnom Penh, and doctors there fixed hardware to heal his fracture. But the surgery was botched. His elbow has not healed properly, and still has an open wound with pus discharge. Samnang is still in pain and cannot bend his elbow. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On May 8th, Samnang will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $230. The surgery will remove the hardware from his elbow, clean and seal his wound, and set the bone so that it will heal properly. Samnang's wife said, "I hope that after this surgery he will regain the use of his arm. Then he can return to caring for his cows."

Paly is a rice farmer from Cambodia. She is married and has two daughters. She likes listening to monks pray on the radio. Two months ago, Paly developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurry vision, irritation, and photophobia. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside. When Paly learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for four and a half hours seeking treatment. On August 6, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure. She says, "I am looking forward to planting my vegetables, going to the local pagoda, and riding my bicycle to sell my vegetables."

Mercy is a two-year-old little girl from Kenya. She is her mother's only child. Mercy lives with her mother and extended family. Her mother is currently in nursing school. In 2014, Mercy sustained burn injuries on her body from a hot water accident. She was taken to a hospital and treated for her injuries on her toes. However, now she is having mobility difficulty, and so has been recommended for contracture release surgery. On October 10, Mercy will undergo surgery at our medical partner's care center, AIC Kijabe Hospital. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is asking for $1,176 in funds to cover the cost of her procedure and accompanying lab, hospital, and medicine fees. "Our only wish is to have Mercy treated so she may begin living a normal life again," says Mercy's aunt.

Meet Sok Eng, a young mother from Cambodia. She lives with her husband and young son. In her free time, Sok Eng enjoys cooking and watching TV. In 2014, Sok Eng developed a mass on her left foreman. The mass has continued to grow in size, leaving Sok Eng in pain. Sok Eng traveled for four hours with her husband to reach our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), for treatment. On March 20, surgeons at CSC will remove the mass and relieve Sok Eng of her pain. This surgery will cost $224, and CSC is asking for donations to help Sok Eng.
