“Rasty Noel is a shy and timid boy, but he loves to play with his brothers and sisters,” shares our medical partner, International Care Ministries (ICM).
Rasty Noel is a four-year-old boy from the Philippines. He was diagnosed with Hirschprung’s disease, a congenital disorder of the abdomen caused by missing nerve cells in the colon which leads to a blockage in the lower intestine. “He had a colostomy before, and needs another treatment so that he can become better,” adds ICM.
“His parents are trying their best to find other sources of income. However, they still can not afford treatment,” ICM continues.
$965 will fund the surgery Rasty Noel needs to treat his condition. During the procedure, a doctor will use an endoscope to remove the blockage. The surgeon will then remove the tissue that is missing the nerves, and reconnect the healthy sections of the lower intestine.
This approach is minimally invasive, and will allow Rasty Noel to regain his independence and be social at school again.
“We are so thankful that you are here. This treatment will be our child’s first step in becoming fully treated,” share Rasty Noel’s parents.

Rasty Noel received successful surgery to be healthy again.
After being born with Hirschprung’s disease, Rasty received treatment to allow him to enjoy a healthy childhood.
Our medical partner, International Care Ministries (ICM) says that despite unexpected delays in Rasty’s surgery date, “The operation went well with Rasty. The redo of pull-through was a necessary step for his recovery from Hirschprung.”
“His parents are so grateful that Rasty passed the surgery without any complications. Eventually Rasty can live a life like other normal kids without experiencing the difficulties of having Hirschprung’s disease,” ICM adds.
Rasty’s mother says, “I cannot contain the happiness and gratefulness in my heart to the persons who helped to fund my child’s needs. It was a bumpy ride to be able to reach this point in Rasty’s condition and status at the moment and I could not imagine that God will really intervene and touched the donor’s heart to continually support my child. I don’t even know how to repay those people but I’m quite sure that every good deed is being repaid. We are looking forward for Rasty’s full recovery and up to the day of the last procedure. We are doing the very best we can to help Rasty by obeying whatever the doctor advised us. We are hoping that he will be well soon.”
