Edivinah is a 47-year-old widow from Uganda and a mother of one child. During high school, Edivinah sustained a long-term spinal injury following a strike at school. She works as a nurse but cannot practice currently due to her condition. For two years, Edivinah has been experiencing severe lower abdominal pain, backaches, and other worrisome symptoms. This condition makes it challenging for her to move and practice as a nurse, thus impacting her ability to earn a living for herself and her daughter. Edivinah's condition has been diagnosed as dysfunctional uterine bleeding. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus, to heal. On September 5th, she will undergo surgery at our medical partner's care center. Once recovered, Edivinah will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain! Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is requesting $219 to fund Edivinah's surgery. Edivinah said, “I am really in your hands to have my condition treated in your favor. I will be very grateful as I resume my usual job to earn a living for me and my daughter.”

Dativah is a small-scale farmer from Uganda. She and her husband have one child and are expecting their second child soon. Dativah is the oldest in her family of seven children. She earned a degree in social science but had difficulty getting a job and practices small-scale farming for a living. Her husband is a businessman selling animals. Dativah has been visiting a local clinic and receiving antenatal care. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family. Dativah is currently expecting her second child. Her doctors recommended that she deliver via a Cesarean section based on her previous delivery experiences. By undergoing a C-section, the doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child. On May 25th, Dativah will undergo a C-Section and is requesting support to raise $252 to fund this procedure. Dativah says, “My delivery will be of great joy to me, and I pray for a good outcome through your support so that I can take care of my family.”

Hana is a cute and happy baby who loves playing with toys and interacting with the people around her. Her favorite foods are porridge with bread and pasta. She is the only child of her parents. Her mother used to sell candles at church gates, and her father is in the military, though he currently has no contact with the family. Last year, Hana started refusing her mother’s milk, and her abdomen began to swell. Her mother was extremely concerned about her baby's condition and immediately took Hana to the clinic. Hana was diagnosed with Hirschsprung's Disease, a condition in which missing nerve cells in the large intestine cause intestinal blockage. Further referrals led her to our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, who will help Hana and her mother with a treatment plan. Now, African Mission Healthcare is asking for $1,500 to help fund Hana's Hirschsprung's pull-through surgery scheduled for March 16th. Hana's mother said, “After her surgery, I want her to be well and to grow healthy. I will send her to school. I will try my best to give her a better life, and I don’t want her to suffer as I did. I hope she will be wise and independent in her future.”
