Vor is a 75-year-old retired rice farmer from Cambodia. He is married and has three daughters, four sons, and many grandchildren. Vor lives with his wife, who has also retired from farming, and their youngest daughter, who is garment worker. Vor enjoys spending his time watching the news on TV and listening to monks pray on the radio. About one years ago, Vor developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him to experience itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. A cataract is a clouding of the lens of the eye, so it is like looking through a frosty or fogged-up window. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, so Vor is unable to go places on his own. When Vor learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), he traveled for two hours seeking treatment. On October 22nd, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, Vor will be able to see clearly. CSC is requesting $263 to fund his procedure. Vor said, "I hope, after surgery, my eye can see better so I can recognize and go to far places, join ceremony, and not worry about my eye anymore."

Korotoumou is a 29-year-old mother from Mali. She has a young son and is expecting her second child soon. In her free time, Korotoumou enjoys taking care of her home. Korotoumou's doctors recommended that she deliver by a cesarean section to prevent birthing complications. This way, her doctors can ensure the safety of both Korotoumou and her child. Our medical partner, Muso, is helping Korotoumou undergo a cesarean section on July 14th. Muso is requesting $259 to fund her procedure. Korotoumou expressed her hopes that this surgery will ensure she is able to have a healthy baby.

Bros is a 57-year-old man from Cambodia. He grows rice and other crops for a living. He is married and has two daughters. About six months ago, Bros developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, so he is not able to go places on his own. When Bros learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for two hours seeking treatment. On July 2nd, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $263 procedure. Bros said, "I hope that after my cataract surgery, my eyesight will improve so that I can return to growing rice, vegetables, and other crops around my house. I also look forward to traveling to places farther away without having to worry about my eyesight anymore."
