Soklin is a 17-year-old girl in the twelfth grade from Cambodia. She has a younger sister, and she enjoys reading history books and watching Thai dramas.
Soklin has had esotropia in her left eye since she was four months old. Esotropia is a form of strabismus that causes her eye to turn inward.
For $264, Soklin will undergo a squint correction procedure that will improve her vision and confidence when going to school.
Soklin says, “I hope my eye is good looking with a straight eye so that I feel better than now and not be shy with my friends, neighbors, and everyone else. I want to feel good when I study. In the future, I want to be a Pharmacist.”

Soklin successfully received surgery to see clearly again.
Since she was born, Soklin has had a condition that caused her eye to turn inwards, causing her blurred vision and to feel shy around her friends. Today, Soklin’s treatment on both eyes went well! She was given eye drops to reduce inflammation, and she’s now on her way to a full recovery.
“I feel very happy that I look better and I feel good,” she shares. “I don’t have to be shy around my friends, neighbors, and everyone else like I did before. I can feel confident when I study. In the future, I want to be a Pharmacist.”
