Ty is a 24-year-old factory worker from Cambodia. His wife works as a footwear factory worker. His father is a rice farmer, and his mother works in a garment factory. In his free time, he enjoys playing volleyball with friends in his village. When he was 13 years old, Ty had an ear infection. This infection caused the tympanic membrane, or the eardrum, in his right ear to perforate. For this reason, Ty experiences chronic ear discharge, hearing loss, itchiness, and tinnitus or ringing in the ear. The condition has significantly affected his daily life. He has difficulty hearing and communicating with others, which often leads to frustration and emotional distress. It also affects his sleep and social interactions. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is helping Ty receive treatment. On June 9th, he will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in his right ear. During this procedure, surgeons will close the perforation. He can contribute $75, but needs help raising $288 more needed for his procedure and care. Ty said, “I have lived with hearing problems since I was young. I hope this surgery will improve my hearing so I can communicate more easily and enjoy a better quality of life.”

Vincent is a seven-year-old student from Mali. About three weeks ago, he began experiencing swelling in his inguinal region, and a loss of appetite. Concerned, his parents brought him to our medical partner's care center, Centre de Santé de Référence (CSREF) Commune 6, for a medical review. At CSREF, Vincent underwent a clinical examination aided by ultrasound. He was diagnosed with a left inguino-scrotal hernia, a condition where abdominal tissue protrude through a weak spot in the abdominal wall and extends downwards. Fortunately, on October 13th, he will undergo hernia repair surgery at CSREF. Our medical partner, Muso, is requesting $377 to fund Vincent's surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live a healthier life. "Our wish is to see our son in good health," Vincent parent's said.

Jeremia is an 11-month-old baby boy. He is the only child in his family and lives with both parents, who work as pastoralists. They keep cattle and occasionally cultivate maize during the farming season to support their family. Jeremia has clubfoot on both feet, a congenital condition in which feet are twisted inward. Without appropriate treatment, this condition can make walking difficult and affect his ability to wear regular shoes comfortably as he grows. When Jeremia was born, his parents were unaware that medical treatment could help correct the position of his feet. Hope came when the Kafika House outreach team visited their village and identified Jeremia as a child who could benefit from treatment. For his parents, this discovery opened the door to an opportunity they had not previously known was available. Following an assessment, Jeremia has been scheduled to begin clubfoot treatment on October 20th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $341 to fund Jeremia's clubfoot repair. After treatment, Jeremia will have improved mobility as he grows. “We are grateful for this opportunity to help our son walk comfortably,” says Jeremia's mother
