Befikru is a two-year-old boy from Ethiopia. He is an only child and is playful and active and loves to play with other kids in the neighborhood. His father works as a daily laborer in public transport. Befikru’s grandparents support the young family; they are farmers who provide them with grains and secure their food through their support. Mom stays home to raise Befikru and manages the domestic work.
Befikru was born with hypospadias, a condition that causes urinary dysfunction. Without treatment, he will continue to experience uncomfortable symptoms and will be at risk of other health complications.
Fortunately, Befikru is scheduled to undergo corrective urinary surgery on July 11th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $1,293 to cover the total cost of his procedure and care.
Befikru’s dad said, “I hope he will heal after the surgery.”
