Ghati is a primary school student from Tanzania. She is the third born in a family of five children. She loves studying Swahili and science. Her mother sells sugar canes and sugarcane juice at the side of the road in town. Ghati’s father is a fisherman.
Ghati has clubfoot of her left foot. Clubfoot is a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape. This causes difficulty walking and even wearing shoes.
Fortunately, Ghati traveled to visit our medical partner’s care center, AIC Cure International Hospital. There, surgeons will perform clubfoot repair surgery on August 15. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $890 to fund Ghati’s clubfoot repair. After treatment, she will be able to walk easily.
Ghati says, “I cannot wait to be back to school and show my friends that I am able to walk normal.”
