Allan is an active and happy six-year-old living in Kenya with his mother, father, and two siblings. Allan’s parents work as small scale farmers to support their family.
Allan was born with a clubfoot and has been receiving corrective treatment since birth, but still has a lingering limp. The limp makes it difficult for him to walk long distances, and causes pain in his hip. Allan’s doctors have recommended that he undergo surgery to correct his clubfoot so that he can walk without pain. Allan will soon be enrolling in school and his parents would like him get the surgery soon so that he can focus on learning and making friends.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $1,224 to fund Allan’s surgery, which is scheduled to take place on August 21. Allan’s parents are hopeful that with the right treatment he will progress in school and have a bright future.
