Veronica is an adorable 10-day-old baby living in Tanzania. Veronica was the first child of her newlywed parents. But three months before her birth, her father passed away.
Now, Veronica is facing a new challenge. She has a lesion on her back that is leaking cerebral spinal fluid. Her mother is a casual laborer who mostly does farm work. She is working hard to take care of Veronica on her own, and says, “Please help my baby get well. She is all I’ve got.”
$1025 will pay for a myelomeningocele closure and ventriculoperitoneal shunt insertion, a surgery that will save Veronica’s life. As she grows, she will be able to sit, stand, and walk alone. Let’s make it happen!

Veronica received a myelomeningocele closure and ventriculoperitoneal shunt insertion to stop spinal fluid from leaking.
Veronica can sleep on her back and she is more comfortable than she used to be. After complete recovery, she is expected to continue with normal growth.
Veronica’s mother says, “I have truly seen the hand of God. Veronica is calm, she is feeding well and I also feel comfortable carrying her. I feel that saying thank you is not enough; so I pray for God’s blessings to all those who in one way or another helped save the life of my only daughter.”
