Mary is a 25-year-old mother of two who is expecting her third child. Mary and her husband are both farmers who grow maize, beans, and sugarcane. While they earn some income from these crops, they use most of what they grow to feed their family.
In her prior pregnancies, Mary worked in the fields until the day she gave birth. Mary's first child was born at home, but she was able to deliver her second child at the health facility run by our medical partner, Lwala Community Hospital, in Kenya. She is hoping to have access to the same healthy environment for her new baby.
For just $215, we can help Mary get the prenatal care she needs, including several home visits from a healthcare provider. She will also be able to give birth to her baby in a healthcare facility, which will help ensure a safe delivery for them both.
