Kyampire is a farmer from Uganda. She is married and a mother to four children, two of whom are in university and two whom are still in secondary school. Kyampire was unable to continue school after the fourth grade due to lack of school fees. She earns a living from small scale farming, and at times does manual laboring in other people’s gardens to sustain a living. Her husband works as a builder on construction sites.
Three years ago, Kyampire started experiencing lower abdominal pain and amenorrhea. She has been diagnosed with a premalignant cervical lesion. Kyampire needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $219 to fund Kyampire’s surgery. On November 11th, she will undergo gynecological surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Once recovered, Kyampire will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain.
Kyarimpa says “I am really grateful to have learned about this program. I hope that once I have been considered, I will receive my surgery and have new health as I continue with farming.”
