Fenet is eight-year-old girl from Ethiopia. She lives in a loving home with her parents and two brothers. She is supported by her father, who works for the government, and her mother, who was once a teacher but now devotes all her time to caring for their children. For the past seven years, Fenet has been fighting a difficult battle with chronic tonsillitis. This ongoing health struggle has made it very hard for her to enjoy her daily life and feel like a happy, active child. During an episode, Fenet experiences severe throat pain, low appetite, and exhausting fevers, leaving her without the energy she needs to play with friends or focus in school. She often misses class and is stressed about falling behind her classmates. Fenet was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils, which, if not treated, will cause her symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time. Our medical partner, Saglan Wajee General Hospital, is requesting $700 to fund a tonsillectomy for Fenet, which is scheduled to take place on June 6th. Surgeons will remove her tonsils, hopefully relieving Fenet of her symptoms and helping her live more comfortably. Fenet’s parents shared, “We hope to provide her with a healthy and completely uninterrupted childhood, where she can finally leave behind these years of chronic throat pain and sudden fevers.”

Precious is a 30-year-old mother of two children from Uganda. She earns a living through a small business selling children's clothes from house to house, while her husband depends on casual labor for income. During her free time, she enjoys playing with her children and telling them stories. For the past seven years, Precious has lived with a swelling in her lower abdominal area. Over time, the swelling has progressively increased in size and become increasingly painful. What began as a health concern has developed into a significant obstacle in her daily life. The pain and discomfort have made it difficult for her to move around freely while looking for customers, limiting her ability to earn an income. Even performing ordinary household chores has become challenging, leaving her increasingly worried about how she will care for her children and manage her home. Precious was referred to our medical partner's care center, Rushoroza Hospital. The findings revealed a dermoid cyst requiring surgical excision. On October 31st, Precious will undergo surgery with the help of our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare. Now, Precious needs help to raise $261 to fund this procedure. Precious says, "For seven years, I have lived with this swelling, and the pain has made it difficult for me to move around and sell my clothes. This small business is how I try to provide for my children, but now even simple household work has become difficult. I have visited different health facilities hoping to find help, and I am relieved that the doctors at Rushoroza Hospital have identified a possible solution. Unfortunately, I cannot afford the cost of the operation because my business earns very little and my husband depends on casual work. I humbly appeal to the donors to help me receive the treatment I need. I want to recover, return to my business, and provide for my children again. May God bless you for your kindness and support."

Tristan is a 25-year-old hardworking provider from the Philippines. He helps support his family alongside his father and has been hoping to transfer to a higher-paying job to better provide for their household. However, four months ago, Tristan was diagnosed with an inguinal hernia, which causes him discomfort and prevents him from lifting heavy objects. This has limited his options for finding new work. Fortunately, on June 5th, Tristan will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner's care center, Our Lady of Peace Hospital. A portion of the cost of Tristan's treatment is being supported by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation. Our medical partner is raising the remaining $1,038 to cover the cost of his surgery and care. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently. Tristan said, "I am very grateful for the opportunity to receive free surgery because it will help me recover without adding financial stress to my family. I look forward to getting better so I can continue working and supporting my loved ones."
