Mu Ki received treatment to remove gall stones.

The treatment was a success!

“Now that Mu Ki has had her gall stones removed - three of which were the size of dice, causing her considerable physical and mental discomfort - she says that she feels immense relief,” Mu Ki’s doctor tells us. “She doesn’t have to worry anymore about her family’s future - now she can work to help provide for her children and support their education. She says that she is now pain free and so much happier than before!”

“I want to thank donors for enabling me to receive treatment and for my good health,” says Mu Ki.

“Mu Ki is looking forward to getting well very soon, so that she can be a supportive wife and caring mother for her three children again,” says our medical partner, Burma Border Projects.

Mu Ki is a 37-year-old woman from Thailand who plants rice and corn for a living. She was diagnosed with multiple gallstones, meaning that small stones, made of cholesterol, formed in her gallbladder. She has been experiencing severe stomach pain, and is unable to help her husband on the farm or do household chores most of the time. For a short time, she was taking analgesics to help relieve her symptoms; however, she still experiences pain.

Mu Ki and her husband make 20,000 Baht (USD $650) a year. This amount is not enough for them to pay for proper medical treatment, especially when their children are still in school.

For $810, we can help ensure that Mu Ki no longer experiences pain and can go back to work. “I’m very lucky and fortunate to be able to get help for my surgery. I can’t wait to have treatment and go home to be a happy mother again,” Mu Ki tells us. Let’s help make that possible!
