Thu Ya is a 21-year-old man from Burma. He lives with his wife in Chomburi Province, Thailand. He is a day labourer at a metal factory, and his wife is a homemaker. His income is enough to cover their daily expenses, and sometimes he also sends some money to his mother who lives in Burma. In his free time, he likes to learn the Chinese language on his phone. On the 17th of July. 2026, on the way from his work to his apartment, Thu Ya was driving a motorbike and fell, breaking his left arm and leg. He cannot walk and is unable to use his left arm to hold things. He is in pain and was forced to stop working. With the help of our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, Thu Ya will undergo surgery to reset his fractured bones and ensure proper healing. The procedure is scheduled for August 28th and will cost $1,500. This procedure will help Thu Ya be free from pain and able to walk and grab things again. He will be able to go back to his work after he is fully recovered. Thu Ya said, "I am stressed as I am in debt due to my condition and cannot work since my accident until now. While I am waiting for treatment, I will learn more Chinese and hopefully one day I will work as a Chinese translator as my new job. I feel like I cannot do heavy work after this treatment, so I will not return to my previous work."

Angel is a student from Colombia. He is a bright, responsible boy who is dedicated to his studies, which has allowed him to consistently excel at school. He is known for being curious, intelligent, cheerful, and very active. He enjoys anime, soccer, board games, traveling with his family, and playing freely; he also loves learning fun facts about animals and dinosaurs. He is currently learning to play the guitar and is on a soccer team. Angel began experiencing pain in early 2025, which forced him to stop playing soccer for a few months. He has an umbilical hernia, a condition in which a small portion of abdominal tissue protrudes through the navel. Surgery has been recommended to correct the hernia and prevent possible future complications. Fortunately, on September 30th, Angel will undergo repair surgery with the help of our medical partner, Clinica Noel. He needs help raising $1,005 to fund his procedure and care. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably. Edward is a 63-year-old man from Malawi. He is married with five children, and earns a living through roasting and selling peanuts within his community. Although all five of his children are married, they are supporting their own families, and are unable to provide significant financial assistance. At his age, he earns very little income from his business, which is often insufficient to meet his daily needs. Three years ago, Edward was diagnosed with a right inguinal hernia, a condition that occurs when abdominal tissue protrudes through a weak spot in the lower abdominal muscles, causing a bulge in the groin area. He first noticed a small swelling, which he ignored because it was painless and he believed it would resolve on its own. Over time, the swelling began to appear intermittently, and later started causing abdominal pain and discomfort. Concerned about his worsening condition, his brother advised him to seek medical attention at Partners in Hope Medical Center (PIH). At the hospital, his diagnosis was confirmed, and a surgical repair recommended. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Edward receive treatment. On September 16th, he will undergo hernia repair surgery at PIH to relieve his symptoms, allowing him to live a healthier life. Now, Edward needs help to fund this $575 procedure.
