Jayden is a cheerful three-year-old boy from Kenya. His mother is a trained teacher who is currently unemployed, and he has one younger sibling. Curious and full of energy, Jayden loves exploring the world around him. However, his medical condition has recently made it difficult for him to stay active and enjoy playing as freely as other children his age.
Shortly after Jayden was born, his mother noticed swelling in a sensitive area and sought medical advice at a local hospital. She was reassured that nothing was wrong and was encouraged not to worry. Trusting this guidance, she tried to set her concerns aside. However, when Jayden was around 18 months old, he seemed uncomfortable and told her that the area felt “heavy.” Concerned, his mother returned to the hospital and insisted than an investigation be performed.
Jayden was diagnosed with a hydrocele, which is buildup of fluid in the scrotum. He needs surgery, but it has been difficult for his mother to raise the funds. More recently, Jayden’s swelling has increased, and he experiences pain with movement, preventing him from running or playing.
Thankfully, Jayden was referred to our medical partner’s care center and will undergo surgery on September 8th. Our medical partner, IcFEM Dreamland Mission Hospital, is requesting $584 to fund Jayden’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live a healthier life.
Jayden’s mother shared, “I am grateful for the help that will allow my son to receive treatment. I cannot thank you enough. My prayer is that his surgery will be successful, that he will grow up well, and one day be able to help others.”
