Birungi is a toddler from Uganda. He is the youngest of five children. Birungi is in pre-school. His parents are farmers.
For about a year, Birungi has had an inguinal hernia. This hernia causes him pain and discomfort and if not treated, it may result in intestinal tissue damage or blockage. Fortunately, on July 11, he will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $249 to fund Birungi’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably.

Birungi underwent hernia repair surgery.
His hernia treatment was successful. He will no longer experience pain and will have improved quality of life. He is no longer at risk of the hernia twisting or blocking.
His mother says, “Birungi is now much better. He is able to get out of bed, play and to feed. After recovery he will resume school and I hope his performance will improve. Now he is able to sleep well the whole night. May God bless the people who have paid for my son’s surgery.”
